Mission
To educate and train individuals to produce professional and technologists
in the fields of engineering, information technology and business, who
are globally competitive and who uphold the social norms and values of
our national philosophy.
To
carry out research and consultancy for government agencies and industries
on contemporary issues and offer practical advice and solutions to enhance
social, economic and industrial growth and development of the country.
To offer short courses in the area of knowledge and skills, within the
scope of ITB activities, so as to create a workforce with relevant knowledge
and skills required for a progressive nation.
Vision
ITB will become the leading institute of higher learning in Brunei Darussalam
recognized and renowned for its strength in the fields of Engineering,
Information Technology and Business and also be a principal centre for
Research and Training in the related fields, whose role is pivotal in
contributing dynamically toward the social, economic and industrial growth
and development of our nation.
Objectives
The
primary objective of the Institute is to cater for a range of interests
in technical and commercial education. In order to meet this objective,
the Institute continually seeks close links with employers in both the
public and private sectors with the purpose of determining their training
needs and the appropriateness of the courses provided. Related to this
objective is the Institute's goal to train men and women to be professionally
competent, inspired and dedicated towards personal growth and service
to the nation.
The objectives of Institut Teknologi Brunei are:
To prescribe courses of study and training in such branches of learning
as it may deem fit in science, technology, commerce and arts in accordance
with national and personal needs.
To award Higher National Diplomas (HND), Diplomas, Certificates and other
academic distinctions to persons who have been admitted to the Institute
and who have satisfied its prescribed regulations.
To provide continuing education and extended academic service to the community.
To provide and promote research and to seek practical solutions to contemporary
issues.
To
co-operate with other institutions and public authorities in such a manner
and for such purposes as it may determine.
