COMPETITION CATEGORIES

The competition comprises of two categories:

Category 1: Creating new product, process or technology
This category covers all new products, processes or technology for its usefulness to society and/or environment.

Category 2: Modifying existing product, process or technology
This category covers modification to any existing product, process or technology, which can improve or enhance its function or quality.

Category 3: Creating new or modifying existing product, process or technology by young inventors
This category is open to upper secondary students, and it covers the design for a new or improved product, experimentation using new techniques or existing techniques in a novel way, use of media to demonstrate a scientific principle or concept, application of a diagnostic and/or creative approach to a well defined problem or research question, or a piece of work which explores issues surrounding science and technology.

For all categories, the creating or modifying of products, processes or technologies can come from any areas of Science, Technology and Engineering including civil, mechanical, electrical & electronics, chemical engineering as well as computer and microprocessors.
