The competition comprises of two categories as follow:

Category 1: Creating new product, process or technology

This category covers new products, processes or technology for its usefulness to society and/or environment.

Category 2: Modifying existing product, process or technology

This category covers modification to any existing product, process or technology, which can improve or enhance its function or quality. For both categories, the creating or modifying of products, processes or technologies, can come from any areas of Science, Technology and Engineering including civil, mechanical, electrical & electronics and chemical engineering, as well as computer and microprocessors.
