21st Century Challenges in Engineering and Technology

3rd – 5th November 2008
Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam
(Venue to be confirmed)

Climate change, environmental protection, energy conservation and renewable energy are among many challenges experienced by the world today and in the 21st Century. Engineers, technologists and economists of various fields have found and are still finding ways and means to resolve them using the best, effective and economic solutions. Engineering and technology have proven its pivotal role for the comfort and advancements in our daily life. Knowledge-only sentiments are inadequate to find the resolutions to today’s challenges. It is imperative that today’s engineers and technologists should keep themselves abreast with technological advancement and apply creative and innovative approach to come up with fit-for-purpose solutions in local and international context. The theme for the 3rd BICET; “21st Century: Challenges in Engineering and Technology” would definitely provide an opportunity not only for local engineers and technologists, to get together, exchange and update information on current trends and innovations in their fields, but also to all those who work in these areas throughout the world."
